Surfactants

Surfactants, also known as surface-active agents, are a class of substances that can significantly reduce the surface tension of liquids or the interfacial tension between liquids. Their molecular structures contain both hydrophilic groups (heads) and hydrophobic groups (tails), allowing them to align at the interface and perform functions such as emulsification, wetting, foaming, and decontamination.
