Crafted at Foton's Automotive Technology R&D Center situated in Stuttgart, Germany, the Foton TOANO draws on Germany's century-old heritage of pioneering automotive technology and rigorous vehicle production philosophy. This development effort has resulted in the birth of the TOANO—a brand-new large VAN belonging to Foton's European-style product line.
The Foton TOANO embraces German-quality standards, integrates world-leading Cummins powertrain, adopts Daimler's quality management system, and is produced in an intelligent factory featuring contactless operations, full automation, and zero emissions—ultimately serving as a high-caliber partner for users. TOANO bears a distinctly German-sounding name and boasts exclusive capabilities inherent to large European-series VANs. It realizes flexible model customization, versatile spatial configurations, while also combining the safety and comfort of passenger cars with the multi-functional utility of commercial vehicles. VAN, also recognized as a multi-purpose commercial vehicle platform, encompasses enclosed cargo vans, buses, panel vans, and specially modified vehicles. Additionally, it comes equipped with a range of features, including spacious passenger capacity, the comfort level of passenger cars, and the large load-bearing capacity of cargo vans. In terms of classification, large VANs refer to full-size commercial vehicles with a long-front design and seating for over 10 people. Medium VANs, by contrast, adopt a flat-front design and also have more than 10 seats. Mini VANs, on the other hand, are defined as commercial vehicles with a 7-seat configuration.

– As a mid-to-high-end large VAN under the European series, this vehicle boasts versatile features and all-round functions. It finds application in urban logistics and transportation, serves for business reception and passenger commuting, and can also be refitted into a variety of specialized models such as police explosion-proof vehicles, medical ambulances, communication command vehicles, and school buses.
– To meet the diverse needs of different customers, the vehicle is available in two versions: one with a standard body (and corresponding wheelbase) and the other with an extended body (and matching wheelbase), both built on a rear-wheel-drive configuration.

TOANO can be divided into 5990 Body and 5015 Body.
The TOANO 5990 Body is positioned for the mid-to-high-end market, designed to cater to users' needs spanning consumer freight, public service passenger transport, and reception scenarios.
The TOANO 5015 Body also targets the mid-to-high-end segment, primarily addressing the reception demands of commercial services. Additionally, it extends its reach downward to cover the low-end market for commercial freight logistics.
