Products are the root and after-sales service is the foundation. Trucks are developing towards high-end heavy-duty trucks.
With fierce competition in the domestic logistics market and the shift toward intensive logistics and transportation operations, vehicle operating costs are rising. Improving transportation efficiency and reducing logistics costs is crucial. Trucks, as a profitable tool, are gradually transitioning from low-end, economy models to mid- to high-end models. These products meet energy-saving and environmental requirements while also reducing operational costs. Therefore, high-end heavy-duty trucks often offer a more cost-effective overall operating cost, offering lower costs, energy savings, and environmental friendliness.
With the rapid development of China's economy, the logistics and transportation market has gradually become segmented. Low-quality and technically advanced products are increasingly unable to meet the requirements of logistics companies. Long-distance, fast transportation and commodity distribution have increasingly higher requirements for vehicle quality. Therefore, when choosing transportation vehicles, logistics companies will consider high-end heavy trucks with high reliability, strong comfort and flexible maneuverability. This can not only effectively shorten transportation time and save transportation costs, but also ensure the safety of goods, which helps to enhance the brand awareness of logistics companies.
As a leading global supplier of commercial vehicles and logistics and transportation solutions, Scania showcased a fast and efficient loading process and a legal and compliant advanced logistics operation model through its "Efficient Logistics Operation" demonstration at the 2013 China International Commercial Vehicle Exhibition in Wuhan. The demonstration aims to promote the standardization of corporate operating procedures in the Chinese logistics industry, fully mobilize and utilize existing resources, improve vehicle and equipment utilization and transportation efficiency, and achieve true safety, efficiency and low cost.
Efficient logistics not only saves businesses significant costs but also helps reduce the environmental impact of transportation itself. Scania hopes to demonstrate a legally compliant, low-cost, highly efficient, and environmentally friendly logistics and transportation solution through this "Efficient Logistics Operation" physical loading and unloading demonstration. Curtain-side trailers are undoubtedly one of the most intuitive examples of this.
Since the curtain side trailer uses curtain fabric instead of other box materials, and through the rational use of single tires on each side, air suspension, and aluminum alloy materials, the vehicle body weight is reduced to about 6 tons, thus effectively increasing the legal load, saving fuel while greatly increasing the vehicle's carrying capacity. The curtains on both sides and the top of the curtain side trailer can be fully opened, realizing efficient logistics operations such as "collection and distribution" and "multi-warehouse round-trip loading and unloading mixed transportation", making the logistics transportation between multiple sources of goods more efficient.
Xu Tao, Strategy Director of Scania's China Strategic Research Center, explained: "The reason curtain-side trailers are so efficient in loading cargo is not only because the curtain sides can be deployed and multiple forklifts can operate simultaneously, but more importantly, the use of standardized pallets optimizes the loading process. Furthermore, the combination of standardized pallets maximizes the utilization of the cargo box volume. Furthermore, a reasonable cargo layout helps to even out the axle load, reducing wear and tear on the vehicle while effectively improving driving safety."
In January 2011, Foton Auman, a leading service provider in China's heavy-duty truck industry, launched the first world-class heavy-duty truck service standard, the "Five-in-One Service Standard," and introduced the concept of lifelong service. "Selling heavy-duty trucks is selling service" is a common refrain among heavy-duty truck marketers. Foton Auman's service network boasts four industry firsts: the largest scale, the most extensive distribution, the largest number of branches, and the strongest capabilities.
Based on the principle of being close to the source of goods, construction site and destination, Auman has built the largest spare parts and service network for commercial vehicles in China, with 3,400 service stations and 2,000 spare parts stores around the country's five vertical and seven horizontal highway networks. It has also established the largest call service center for commercial vehicles in China, providing call service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In order to ensure that the service work is indeed in place, Auman has also formulated a series of service quality management systems based on the characteristics and needs of Auman users. It not only uses customer feedback cards, customer call centers and other methods to collect customer opinions, but also has formulated a complete reward and punishment system for dealers and service providers, strengthened the operation and management of dealers and service stations, formed a "customer-oriented" service concept, and encouraged dealers and service stations to serve users with the best attitude and the highest technical level.
In 2013, FAW Jiefang, in line with FAW China's TQC service brand strategy, launched the "Jiefang Touching Service, 12 Sincere Commitments," upgrading and improving existing policies. In 2013, Jiefang will fully implement 24-hour, all-weather barrier-free assistance: 60 kilometers within 3 hours, 200 kilometers within 6 hours, and remote areas within 12 hours. This truly realizes the "Quality Care, Full-Process Care" service tenet and provides users with "saving time, money, and worry."
Ren Jun, manager of the commercial vehicle sales department of China National Heavy Duty Truck (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., said in an interview with reporters that as the country's supervision of the logistics and transportation industry becomes increasingly strict, more and more large-scale logistics and transportation companies may emerge, which will place high demands on transportation efficiency. They hope to use vehicles with high transportation efficiency to improve domestic transportation modes.
To address market trends, Sinotruk has introduced three key concepts when selling its SITRAK series products. The core is to ensure attentive service throughout the entire lifecycle of logistics and transportation companies. First, we provide logistics and transportation solutions. We calculate vehicle selection and matching based on the customer's proposed transportation routes, speeds, cargo, and weight, and also assess the customer's return on investment to provide a suitable product solution. Second, we provide service engineers who provide driving training and vehicle usage advice throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle. The third approach is to install a fleet management system on the vehicles. This system can provide logistics company owners with comprehensive recommendations, including analysis of drivers' driving habits, mileage, speed, and other aspects. Furthermore, it can assess whether the engine speed is within economic efficiency.
Thus, encouraging more users to understand the value of high quality and service, leading to efficient logistics, is the key to promoting high-end heavy-duty trucks by heavy-duty truck companies.
