Erucamide is a purified fatty acid amide product, which is an important derivative of erucic acid refined and processed from vegetable oil raw materials. It appears as an odorless waxy solid, almost insoluble in water, while being partially soluble in organic solvents including ketones, esters, alcohols, ethers and benzene. Featuring a long unsaturated C₂₂ alkyl chain linked with a polar amide group in its molecular structure, this chemical possesses excellent surface activity, favorable melting properties and high thermal stability.
